The WASP Knife certainly lives up to its namesake as the moment it stabs something, 24 grams of compressed gas at 800 PSI will enter the wound, regardless of whether you’re on land or underwater - opening up a whole new world of hurt to the victim. Apparently, this dangerous knife is sold strictly to the non-civilian market, but you never know just how a careless moment could cause this to leak out for those with more nefarious purposes. The WASP knife retails for $389. My skin crawled while reading up on what this knife can do, and I sure as heck wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of it.

The 16GB COWON D2 is available at JetMall.net for $239.99. Not a bad price, though when our friends at GenerationMP3 first spotted it a few hours ago it was only around $225. The features listed are just what we expected from the D2 without any significant changes except the storage capacity. The 16GB version was announced a few months back and, honestly, it is taking COWON awhile.

They’re calling this a breakthrough device, a PMP with WiFi and supports mobile TV. But that’s not the breakthrough yet for this HD (up to 160GB) MP5 Player (a PMP in China that supports RealMedia). The MV5920, due to its dual-core technology no doubt, also supports video playback at HD 720p (1280 x 720 pixels), although laGrandiose is not sure that 60fps is supported as well, but wouldn’t it be awesome if it did? Of course we want nothing more than to review or have some do a review of the HDTV playback on this new Patriot MP5, but for now we’ll take Aigo’s word for it. One can be yours for 2,999 yuan or about $429.

The PMX-M70 series is Sony’s priciest China-only PMP and it’s getting a price cut. Why have a price cut now and why only 100 yuan (about $14) only Sony can answer that. Now only 1599 yuan ($229), users will be getting a 4.3-inch screen, 4GB of storage and line-in video and audio recording and, of course, the assurance that this, despite its target market, is a device of topnotch quality. It’s a good gadget choice for those who do not play games at all but do not mind carrying around media player the size of the Sony PSP.

The VX777 is Onda’s best PMP so far feature-wise. In what seems like a features overdose of sorts, Onda, which is known for its widescreen PMPs, has gone ballistic and automatically nominated itself to the high-end market populated by the likes of Archos and Zune. The 4.3-inch (480 x 272) touchscreen is one of the biggest we’ve seen on any iPhone/ iPod Touch clone or iPhone-like device. The VX777, like most Chinese players, supports a plethora of media files but the addition Internet Radio seems a little like overkill - not that we aren’t ecstatic about it.

With support for RM/RMVB, AVI, FLV, ASF, MP4, MPG, MOV, WMA, WMV, 3GP and SWF, the 16GB option, which is available for the VX777, will come in handy and so will the TF card expansion supporting up to 32GB cards. MP4 Nation has listed up the goods one can find inside every VX777 copied here after the break.

The VX777 is coming in August. Expect a price higher than ordinary Onda players but you can bet it will go for peanuts next to iPod Touch or Archos 605.

Philips is a dark horse in the handset industry. Their last significant outing was a clamshell phone (Xenium NRG) that can run on AAA batteries. Even more noteworthy is a series of Xenium phones (9@9) with a standby time of up to 40 days. Depending on your needs, Philips has been making dream handsets that have pretty much gone under the radar of most consumers and even industry watchers. We hope this isn’t the case with the Xenium 800, a touchscreen phone that boasts e2e or edge to edge screen real estate. Yep, this baby will be prettier than iPhone when it comes out. Whereas iPhone users have to bear with that half an inch of metal frame on both sides of the touchscreen, Xenium 800 users will get to enjoy a screen area as far as their phone casing goes. Resolution is WQVGA, which isn’t as good as HTC’s new dream phone but good enough. Honestly the 800 reminds me of the Nokia N98 - a product of an artist’s imagination - and Xenium takes the cake on sheer prettiness.

The Nokia 5000 is an entry level phone that seems to bear witness to the XpressMusic line. Be warned though that it isn’t. The green painted lines do not contain dedicated music functionalities. Retailing at about 90 Euros this April, this budget Nokia 5000 mobile phone features includes

4. 12MB of internal memory
5. NO expansion option (sadly)

If you’re looking for an XpressMusic model phone, then do not get this but if you’re looking for something cheap and still up to date with features, then this is a good option from Nokia running on the Series 40 platform.
